Sleeping Bags

If you go camping you surely need a sleeping bag and the accessories that accompany a bag. Cookin’ Campers has sleeping bags and sleeping accessories for car camping, backpacking and general use.

When you select a bag make sure you take into consideration the environment that it will be used. If you will be in a very cold environment you will want a bag that will protect you from the elements and cold weather. A mummy bag is one that has a tapered design and is well suited for the cold and extremes of high mountain and backpacking. A mummy bag may not be the proper selection for car camping or general use as it is restricting in the leg and is designed for warmth and is a compact design.

A general use sleeping bag is a typical rectangular shape and offers more leg room than a mummy bag and is well suited for the person who needs to stretch or move a bit while sleeping. Check the temperature ratings and select the type of sleeping bag that suites your need and comfort level desired.

While camping is considered roughing it most campers like to be comfortable and a mattress or sleeping pad or cot is a must for just about any camper. With today’s portable air mattresses you can be as comfortable as in your bed a home. An air mattress will support you and keep you off the ground which will insulate you from the cold ground. If you are backpacking we suggest a high density foam sleeping pad or a self inflating pad as the way to go.
